Description

This wold area lies in the foothills of Malé Karpaty. There can be found only agricultural habitats, other as transitional forest and water habitats are rare.

Area protection

IBA Špačince – Nižná was designated a Special Protection Area (SPA) Špačinsko-nižnianske polia on Febrauary 1, 2011.

Importance

The site is an important nesting and feeding habitat of Saker Falcon (Falco cherrug) and other bird species of open agricultural landscape.
