Description

It is a flat area in the northwestern part of Východoslovenská rovina flatland. It is an area with predominance of agricultural landscape with minimum of forest habitats and with significant density of urban sites.

Area protection

IBA Východoslovenská rovina was designated a Special Protection Area (SPA) Ondavská rovina on January 7, 2008.

Importance

Východoslovenská rovina flatland belongs to the most important nesting sites of Eastern Imperial Eagle (Aquila heliaca) in Slovakia. In the territory are nesting other bird species of an open agricultural landscape.
