It is a system of fishponds in the lowland near Trnava that is surrounded by agricultural landscape.

Area protection

Area is protected as a Protected Site Trnavské rybníky.

Importance

It is a suitable site for nesting of Red-crested Pochard (Netta rufina), Marsh Harrier (Circus aeruginosus) and Little Bittern (Ixobrychus minutus).

Common Kingfisher (Alcedo atthis), Red-backed Shrike (Lanius collurio), Wryneck (Jynx torquilla), Turtle Dove (Streptopelia turtur), Bittern (Botaurus stellaris)
