Description

Site, which is located in the inundation of the Váh River, is made up of material pit with lots of islands and sandbanks. Vegetation cover consists of reed and sedge stands with poplars and willows seedlings.

Area protection

IBA Dubnické štrkovisko was designated a Special Protection Area (SPA) on September 17, 2009.

Importance

Site is an important nesting site of Common Tern (Sterna hirundo) and a resting place for migrating bird species.
