British Birdfair 2011

In August we attended a very special event for a birdwatcher called the British Birdfair. It is the biggest birdwatchers fair in the world.
There are hundreds of stands which exhibit and sell everything for wildlife enthusiasts. Books, pictures, sculptures, binoculars, scopes, outdoor clothing and equipment, bird food, home accessories with bird motives, travel agencies from all over the world offering bird and nature holidays, NGOs presenting conservation efforts, protected area administrations or presentations of whole countries – you can find everything there.
The Birdfair takes place on the nature reserve at Rutland Water which is also a RAMSAR site and a Special Protection Area.
