Description

It is a complex of small sites in lowland, mainly natural or artificial clay and sand walls in southern warmer parts of Slovakia.

Area Protection

Dolné Pohronie was designated a Special Protection Area (SPA) on January 7, 2008.

Importance

These sites are suitable for nesting of Bee-eater (Merops apiaster) and Sand Martin (Riparia riparia). Abundance of feed and suitable habitats creates conditions for occurrence of protected bird species
