1. of April as a Birds Day was established in 1900 by Oto Herman (1835 – 1914), a significant Slovak naturalist. We have also decided to organize an event to remind this day and went to the Devínske jazero.

On Tuesday we made a trip to region Záhorie and dropped by also at Devín Castle and Sandberg. Besides first flowers in blossom we were pleased by many nice bird observations.

This Thursday we went to the area of Neusiedler See in Austria and Hungary to make necessary arrangements for our planed trip in April and to check “new bird arrivals”.

On Wednesday afternoon we went for a trip, to have a look at what Bratislava surroundings has to offer to an enthusiastic birdwatcher in the middle of February.
