Several years ago some of us regularly took part in short courses focused on teaching and learning birdcalls in nature. They were very popular among wide public. This year we decided to renew this tradition.

On Sunday we’ve visited floodplain meadows of the Morava River and Sandberg, which is a part of the National Nature Reserve Devínska Kobyla. It was rather windy and only 12 degree Celsius.

In the end of the week we decided to make a small walk in the westernmost part of Small Carpathians Mts. We were awaiting the arrival of Bee-eaters and hoping to spot some rare protected orchids.

We have visited Neusiedler See area once more. We had a beautiful day of birdwatching that brought us several surprises.

On the 3rd day of Pannonian BirdExperience on Sunday afternoon an excursion took place on Hrušovská zdrž water reservoir on the Danube River that lies in the outskirts of Bratislava, capital city of Slovakia.

[Friday – Saturday, April 15-16, 2011]
In the end of last week Pannonian BirdExperience 2011 took place in Illmitz, Austria. This nice combination of exhibitions, lectures and birdwatching excursions was held in Information & Education Centre of Nationalpark Neusiedler See – Seewinkel.

[Monday, April 11, 2011]
We made small birdwatching trip just outside of Bratislava on Monday. We visited water reservoir Hrušovská zdrž on Danube River (IBA Dunajské luhy). It was cloudy and little bit windy, slightly over 10°C. During our 2,5 hour visit we have seen or heard 44 different bird species.
